I thought it would be a good idea to pick my favourite shot from each portrait shoot that I have done in 2013 and put them in a final blog for the year. It was only once I got started that I realised how many portrait shoots that I have actually done, it's been a very busy year!!!
During this time I have learned a great deal and undergone various courses & training. In addition to this I have spent a small fortune on new equipment so it is great to achieve the desired results whilst continually striving to improve.
There have been challenges - weather to batttle, chins to edit, crows feet to smooth, spots to remove and on one occasion a tooth needed adding......................well it was the only way the lovely little lady was going to smile for me!!! Jokes aside, I have had enormous fun doing the shoots and it is amazing how people always say "I am rubbish at having my photo taken" and within 5 minutes they are a 'natural'.
Thank you to all the lovely people who have been patient & understanding whilst I set up my equipment, without you this blog and my website wouldn't exist.
I wish you all a very prosperous 2014 and I look forward to shooting more of you in the new year.
James :-) xx

2013 has been great for photography and I have had loads of fun doing various photo shoots & projects throughout the year. If am being completely honest I would have to say that the numerous dog shoots have probably been my real favourites.
Every dog has it's own individual character however most of them are, excuse the pun, barking mad. Luckily my camera is capable of high speed capture which is just as well given the speed and erratic charging about that I have to contend with. My personal preference is to meet the owner and their hounds at a beach or headland so that the shots are in natural surroundings and fun, after taking about 1000 raw images I then have the delightful task of handpicking the cream of the crop for editing!!!
Big thanks to the stars of the show namely Clem, Maisy, Bud, PomBear, Olly, Benson, Honey & Daphne. I so look forward to doing more of this type of work in 2014 plus I will be adding some cats & horses to the portfolio.
Here are my favourites which I hope you like.
James :-) xx
